Event Details
Every great show starts with an idea, and every idea needs a great pitch. At PitchWorld, contestants have 5 minutes to present their pitch in front of a live audience. Audiences will get to hear pitches of all genres and feedback from our industry judge.
Pitchworld 2024 Contestants
Griefstruck– A group of post-apocalyptic survivors band together to survive the upheaval this new life has created, even if the end of the world is only a fabricated mental representation of the real-life grief they are experiencing.
Bat Sh*t Debbie– The painfully hilarious moments experienced by Debbie Segel, a lovable modern day Lucille Ball, struggling with severe ADHD making the challenges of motherhood, marriage and daily life unusually messy for everyone around her.
Fats & Harry– Two detectives must save the face of the police following the defund to police movement. Both men are their own comedic showing of ineptitude.
Shuttlecock– A pre-med, Indian-American rideshare driver (triple non-threat) gets caught in a dangerous fraternity-sorority rivalry which turns out to be a war on the whole Greek system.
Judge
Pamela Cederquist- WGA-Nominated Writer
During her 30-year career in film, theater, and live events, Pamela Cederquist has produced, directed, and written multiple projects. In 2020, she was nominated for a WGA Award in Dramatic Series for her Charles Manson episode of MINDHUNTER, directed by David Fincher for Netflix. She is currently residing in France and developing a feature film franchise based on a series of books.
Moderator
AJ Nold- Executive Director, Catalyst Story Institute
AJ Nold grew up with a love for storytelling. She went from the independent film scene in Akron, OH to the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts in 2014. AJ earned her law degree and her MBA at the University of Minnesota in 2023, where she immediately joined the Catalyst Story Institute full time as their Director of Operations. In 2024, she stepped up as Catalyst’s Executive Director.
