LAKE PLACID FILM FESTIVAL SETS 2024 DATE FOR NOV. 7-10

LAKE PLACID, NY — After a near record-breaking attendance during its 2023 edition, Adirondack Film has announced the dates for the 2024 Lake Placid Film Festival. Named one of the best Film Festival Vacation Destinations by MovieMaker Magazine, the Lake Placid Film Festival will run Thursday, November 7th through Sunday, November 10th.

“The 2023 edition of the Lake Placid Film Festival was one of our most successful to date,” says Adirondack Film Board Chairperson, Gary Smith. “Between our collaboration with Catalyst Story Institute and their focus on independent television content, to our Student Summit program whose goal is to educate the next generation of filmmakers with hands-on college programs, the Festival is always striving to promote the arts in the Adirondacks and across the state. We look forward to surpassing last year’s blowout success!”

“The programs we introduced in 2023 will continue to bear fruit next year, as we further grow into one of the preeminent film festivals in the region,” says Interim Director, Matt Fretz. “Our Made Upstate program not only provides a venue to connect filmmakers looking to make a career in New York State, but allows us to highlight the many benefits of shooting in the region. It’s already brought tangible economic impact in terms of films picking the Adirondacks to film.”

In the meantime, Adirondack Film offers year-round programming with their “See Something That Means Something” film series at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts. Films are shown at 7:00PM on the third Friday of each month. The series kicks off January 19th with the winner of the Best Screenplay at the Golden Globes, Justine Triet’s gripping “Anatomy of a Fall”. Tickets are available at the door for $15 or online at adirondackfilm.org.
