The mission of the Adirondack Film (AF) is to “advance the art and appreciation of film and filmmaking in the greater Adirondack Region.”

Primary goals of the organization include presenting high-quality independent, art, foreign language, documentary, and high-end studio films – those not typically shown in regional theaters.

AF serves the wider Adirondack Community and reaches an international audience through the LPFF in all things film-related, including providing programing with independent theater owners, virtual programming through its Featured Filmmaker Series, and event offerings encouraging filmmaking.

The Lake Placid Film Festival is now accepting submissions to the 2024 film competition, “Your Shorts are Showing!" We are welcoming submissions to four categories: Narrative, Comedy, Documentary, and Student film. All films must be between 2 and 15 minutes. Learn more and submit your films through Film Freeway.

Judging is entirely impartial and selections are on the basis of storyline, production, sound, and technological excellence.

Finalists agree to participate in the 2024 Featured Filmmaker Series where films are showcased and streamed once in a weekly winter or spring series. Viewings are followed by a live moderated Q & A led by a film professional. It’s a great way to grow your audience followed both on the website and in social media.
