Ginny Schwartz

Retired College Director of Academic Support and Adjunct Assistant Professor, St. Lawrence University

Ginny Lives in Canton New York.  She has a PhD in American Culture Studies, with an emphasis in American Film and Television.  At St. Lawrence University, she taught film courses including Introduction to Film, Coldest Cold War Flicks, and Film Noir.  Ginny also held a variety of administrative positions at St. Lawrence.  Her special interest is film noir, and she authored a chapter on the film Double Indemnity in The Film Noir Reader 4: The Crucial Films and Themes.  Beyond St. Lawrence, Ginny taught an Introduction to Film Noir course for SOAR, an adult education program for North Country retirees which is sponsored by SUNY Potsdam.  In addition she has facilitated several film presentations and discussions at a variety of locations including the Remington Museum in Ogdensburg NY, and at Tupper Arts and the Tupper Lake library.   Ginny retired from St. Lawrence after 36 years, and continued teaching film courses as an Adjunct Assistant Professor for another nine years.
